Chiwetel Ejiofor as Jessica Fletcher, Idris Elba as the local sheriff. Ejiofor moves to town in the middle of a big murder trial and likes to sit in on the proceedings as research for his next book. He bumps into the local sheriff, Elba, who starts to get suspicious about the timing of his move and his interest in the trial.
